Set up learning path certificates

Set up learning path certificates

Intended Audience:  Administrators

Summary

Create your own certificates to assign to learning paths. Learners can download their certificates from their dashboards.
Important! Should you wish to explore the use of the auto re-enroll feature in learning paths, it is important to contact Customer Support BEFORE configuring this feature on a learning path. Should you have existing enrollments for a learning path and then configure certificate expiration and/or number of days to auto re-enroll, there can be unforeseen results. Check with our Support Team first and we will walk you through the appropriate steps!

Note: The Safety Made Simple certificate is already created and placed in your portal. All Safety Made Simple courses are attached to our certificate by default.

Safety Made Simple recommends a high-resolution image sized for regular printer paper, 3462 x 2401px @ 300dpi resolution, for certificate images. You can upload any image file format (JPEG, PNG etc.) of 5Mb or less: PNG image files print the best results.

Create a certificate

  1. From main navigation go to Certificates: from the action menu, select Add New Certificate.
  2. For Title, enter a name for the certificate.
  3. Select Upload File > your certificate image Open.
  4. Save to confirm upload.

Drag and drop variables from the list, like Firstname LastnameCourse TitleCompletion Date and Score Achieved, to appear on the certificate.

Note: Adjust the font size of the variable in the drop down list if needed. The certificate editor saves changes automatically.

After you have all the variables in place select Preview to see the resulting certificate. Safety Made Simple assembles the certificate as a PDF, and provides a link to download it from the user's dashboard.

Assign a certificate to a learning path

  1. From main navigation, go to Courses and from secondary navigation select Learning Paths > your learning path.
  2. Select Certs & Credits
  3. In Certificate type in the first few letters of the name of the certificate and select it from the list.
  4. For certificate options:
    • If certificate expires, enter a number for day(s) after being awarded.
    • Toggle Auto re-enroll learner? if required, and enter a number for day(s) before certificate expires?
    • If appropriate, select Award any course-level certificates as learners complete courses on their path?
  5. Save to finish.
