Group Training - Administrators

Intended Audience:  Administrators

When conducting a group training session rather than individual online training, there are a few items to consider. You may want to set up a computer to a larger screen in order for all to see and hear the course well. Also, decide as a group answers to each of the exam questions.

In order to record a group training, an enrollment record for each learner must exist.

The date of the group training, the score received by the learner, and any applicable notes may then be entered at the course enrollments.

How to Create Enrollments

  1. Navigate to Enrollments on the primary navigation menu.
  2. Select the appropriate course(s) for the group training.
  3. Select the Learners that attended the group training OR you may click “Switch to Groups” and select an entire group. When selecting a group, all members of that group will have an enrollment record created.
  4. If a learner has completed the course before, be sure to turn on Re-enroll completed user? on the Enrollment screen.
  5. Click the Enroll button in the lower right corner.

Now that you have Enrollment records created, you may manually complete each user's course with the results of the group training.

Recording Group Training for Learners

  • Navigate to Courses on the primary navigation menu.
  • From the list of courses, search for the course name and select the icon for Enrolled users

  • Use filters such as Not Started and verify the Date Enrolled. Now check the boxes next to learners who attended the group training. Click on Set Complete which appears after a learner has been selected.

  • A new window will open where you can complete the enrollment information for each learner.
    • Status:  Passed or Failed
    • Score:  as percentage, such as 100, 90, 80 (do not include % symbol)
    • Date:  of group training
    • Notes:  optional
    • Click the Save button.

NotesNOTE: Scoring for all Safety Made Simple courses are recorded as a percentage such as 80%, 90%, and 100% as passing scores. Single portal clients who create their own courses may use percentage scores OR opt to use a point scoring system, so points such as 8, 9, or 10 may be the course passing score. Be sure to check the type of scoring used for your group training course.
    • repeat the process if additional courses were completed for this group training session.

Following this process will create an Enrollment record for each learner who attended group trainings.  This training will now show in each learner’s training history as well as be available in all reports created by an Administrator or a Manager.
