Image sizes overview: logos, course images and certificates

Intended Audience:  Administrators

Use your own logo and brand in the Safety Made Simple portal. Each image has a recommended size and aspect ratio.

This is for single portals only, not shared portals. If you aren’t sure which plan you’re on, or would like to upgrade, please contact our Support Team at support@safetymadesimple.com.

Safety Made Simple recommends PNG image format, or JPEG if PNG is not available, in high resolution, for the best-looking results on your portal.

When you upload images, you can crop and resize them to fit the dimensions provided and add alt-text to ensure you meet accessibility standards.

The header logo appears on every page of the portal. Users can select it from anywhere in the portal to return to their dashboard.

Upload logos with larger resolution to avoid pixelization or blurriness on retina displays. Use an image with a transparent background, maximum 72px in height, no padding or spacing. Landscape style logos produce the best results.

Safety Made Simple recommends images 322px wide and 72px high and uses CSS to scale the image to 161px wide and 36px high. The scaling preserves the best quality image and logo across all devices.

The square logo appears in your portal:

  • on smaller screen sizes
  • as the favicon for the browser tab
  • in your portal footer, if you have a white-labelled portal

For the square logo, upload an image 72px in both height and width.

This logo appears in the iOS app.

For this logo, upload a high-resolution logo image. Safety Made Simple resizes it to 40x40px and 80x80px, for different screen types.

Login screen

You can add text, an image, or a video to the login screen. Image size is flexible.

Course images

Course images appear:

  • on the learner's dashboard for any course, they are enrolled on
  • in the course catalog

Safety Made Simple recommends uploading at least 1 image per course or learning path, to serve as a thumbnail image.

Course image size is 600px x 400px.

Multimedia banners

Multimedia banners combine images, videos from Vimeo or YouTube, and text, with a call to action button, on a background color of your choice.

These banner images are 1294x640px.

Image banners

An image banner is a static image that appears above your learner's enrollments. You can make it into a link to content like a new course or an announcement.

Image banner size is 1540px x 320px, and up to 300Kb in size.

Gamification badges

Safety Made Simple provides default badges for you to start gamification, or you can add your own.

Badge icon sizes are up to 360x360px.

Email: banners for custom email templates

Banner images you associate with custom email templates are ideally 600px wide, and up to 200px in height.

Email: images stored as resources for templates

Add logos or other images as a resource, then embed them in email templates.

Image sizes are flexible, and you can set them within the email using HTML.

Certificate images

You can award certificates to your learners after they complete courses. The fields from their user profile, and custom user data, provide text content.

Certificate images size is 3462px x 2401px. These images should have a 300dpi (high) resolution.
