Enable leaderboards and gamification


Intended Audience:  Administrators

Summary

Motivate your learners by awarding badges based on their activity and accomplishments. Enable a leaderboard to compare learners' activity in the portal. Learners can advance to higher levels by earning learning and activity badges.

Enable gamification

To enable gamification in your portal:

  1. From main navigation go to Settings> My Portal > Gamification.
  2. Select Enable gamification?
  3. Save to finish.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards show the top performers in your portal, and their position. A leaderboard shows the learner's place, as well as the number of points and badges everyone has earned. The following screenshot shows a sample leaderboard.

Leaderboards are available under the My Achievements section of the learner dashboard.

Enable leaderboards by:

  1. From main navigation go to Settings> My Portal > Gamification.
  2. Select Leaderboard and Widgets.
  3. Select Enable leaderboards?
  4. Optional: select Leaderboards are anonymous to hide learners' names in the leaderboard ranking. This option lets learners see where they are on the leaderboard, but not who is specifically above or below them.
  5. Save to finish.
