Assignments: create an assignment for a course

Intended Audience:  Administrators, Instructors

Summary

An assignment is a module type that lets learners submit free form text or upload files for review by their instructor, or admin.

Learners can upload any of the file types supported by Safety Made Simple, and upload up to 5 files, to complete their assignments.

The course owner, an assigned instructor or an admin reviews the learner's work, and provides feedback. LearnUpon provides notifications for assigned instructors and learners.

The reviewer can also reject an assignment, allowing the learner to re-do it.

Assignments do not have due dates. To set a time limit for an assignment, use due dates and expiry dates for the course, to ensure learners know when to submit their work.

Access permissions for assignments

Instructors can create and edit course content if their permissions are turned on.

Managers can create and edit course content if they have instructor permissions.

Admins can create and edit courses without restrictions.

  4. In the New Assignment page, enter a title for learners to view, and a summary of the assignment requirements.
  5. Enter the whole assignment in CK Editor or upload an additional attachment for the assignment.

    • Autocorrect assignment when learner submits their answer: disabled by default. This setting is for assignments that don’t require instructor or admin interaction. If enabled, the system marks the assignment as complete when learners submit the assignment, and sends feedback you provide automatically.
